Workshop on Evolutionary Dynamical Systems and Applications (EDySA) and Training on MAthematics and MOdeling (MOMA).

The use of mathematics for solving and/or understanding real-life problems has grown significantly since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Many developed and developing countries have now emphasized basic and applied research support tools for decision-making. Recent calls for projects and the appearance of new concepts such as Onehealth and Sustainable Sciences clearly show this trend. The main focus of this workshop concerns recent developments in the field of evolutionary dynamical systems with applications in real-life problems.

The aims of this workshop are to:

  • bring together worldwide leaders in the field to encourage their collaboration with young Senegalese researchers;
  • share recent developments in applied and theoretical mathematics;
  • promote the role of population dynamics models as tools for decision-making.

We will address themes in mathematical modeling and theoretical tools for differential equations during this workshop. In fact, Mathematical modeling is positioned today as a valuable decision-making tool, to which recourse is more and more frequent. Speakers will explain, in what situations are mathematical models used? What are they? What do they contribute to the decision on control strategy? What are its limits?  From the theoretical point of view, we will focus on difference equations, ordinary differential equations, and partial differential equations with or without delay.
